*Duncan-King of Scotland-killed
early in the story by a what was thought to be a good and loyal friend, just so Macbeth could become king.
*Macbeth-Thane of Glamis and Cawdor-Kills many
to get what he wants. He ends up having a very guilty conscience and
is miserable from it. He gets killed in the end by Macduff.
*Lady Macbeth-Wife of Macbeth who pushes all the evil
doings that Macbeth does for power. She ends up driving herself mad and dies.
*Banquo-Thane of Lochaber and general in the
king's army and is who the witches said that he and his decedents would
rule Scottland. Macbeth didn't like the sound of that and decided to kill him. Banquo's ghost haunted him very often.
*Macduff-Thane of Fife and Nobleman to Scotland who suspects
that Macbeth is the murderer from the begining. He ends up killing Macbeth in the end.
*Malcolm-Elder son of Duncan-who flees Macbeth's castle
when his fater was murdered to get help to defeat Macbeth and restore him to the throne that is rightfully his.
*Donalbain-Younger son of Duncan, flees for Ireland after
his father is murdered at Macbeth's castle.
*Lennox-Nobleman of Scotland, seems to side with Macbeth
for most of the play. In the end he is with Malcolm and the English soldiers who fight against Macbeth.
*Ross-Nobleman of Scotland
*Siward-Earl of Northumberland, general of the English
forces,who helps Malcolm fight Macbeth.
*Young Siward-Siward's son
*Seyton-Attendant to Macbeth
*Hecate-Queen of Witches who decides that Macbeth should
be punished for his greed and tells the witches to make it look like his fortune will be good, but really to set him up to
fall.
*The Three Witches-Are the instigators in the play, they set
Macbeth up for his downfall by making him believe that he is invincible.
*The Porter-Doorman, a simple person who enjoys partying
*Lady Macduff-Wife of Macduff, her and her children were
killed by Macbeth because her husband sided with Malcolm.
*Fleance-Banquo's son, a threat to Macbeth because he
is heir to throne. Macbeth tries to have him killed with his father but he escapes.
